Cheese Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 2 onions
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 kg cheese (grated)
- 4 tbsp cornflour
- Water (for mixing cornflour)
- Fresh bread (for spreading mixture)
Method
- Grate onions into the milk and simmer until onions are cooked.
- Mix cornflour with a little water to form a slurry and add to the milk mixture.
- Stir continuously until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and add butter.
- Stir in the grated cheese until well combined.
- Leave the mixture to cool.
- Spread the cooled mixture generously onto slices of fresh bread.
- Roll up the bread slices to form cheese rolls.
- Makes approximately 10 dozen cheese rolls.
