Cheese Rolls

Method

  1. Grate onions into the milk and simmer until onions are cooked.
  2. Mix cornflour with a little water to form a slurry and add to the milk mixture.
  3. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and add butter.
  5. Stir in the grated cheese until well combined.
  6. Leave the mixture to cool.
  7. Spread the cooled mixture generously onto slices of fresh bread.
  8. Roll up the bread slices to form cheese rolls.
  9. Makes approximately 10 dozen cheese rolls.
